The idea of Ballenberg Museum is very special. It is an open air museum demonstrating all the different styles of Swiss farm houses from different parts of Switzerland. The most interesting part is that all these over hundred year-old farm houses were transported from their original location and relocated here in the 'museum'.
Additionally, the interior decoration or setting are kept intact, so the lives of the people in the past can be demonstrated more vivid. Contrast by those indoor museum, Ballenberg Museum is linked by small paths, surrounded by snow mountains, grassland and trees. The visit to this museum is indeed a pleasure. I like this unique museum very much. Thanks for the smart choice of Ursina.
The rain accompanied with the beautiful house welcomed us to this museum.
Typical house from Bern.
All the furniture are also transported and kept inside the house.
A demonstration of traditional weaving.
How can a farm house be so beautiful?
The environment of the museum is just so natural and pleasant.
Luckily, later on the rain stopped. And the nature was then so refreshing.
Farm animals here are for display only, but not for eaten.
Oh my god, I always want to be the 'animal' in Switzerland. They have such a good life!
Houses from central midlands of Switzerland.
House from the North East.
Clock and watch making inside the house.
House from Westlands.
The cow bells. Very Swiss feeling.
It reminded me of Yunnan in China.
Houses of South Switzerland, Italian style.
Bernese Midlands style.
A cafe in front of this beautiful house.
Just looking at the house, it is a normal farm house. Actually it is a speical project of renovating old farm house to new modern house.
The interior is so hip.
I would love to live here.
A smoked-wall in the kitchen just becomes an artistic painting.
A demonstration of wood-carving.
What are you looking at?
A jewel-blue lake.
The favourite house style of Ursina. A style from the Zurich area.
