Sorata, a quiet town forgetten by the world

Nestled inside the mountain range between La Paz (the capital of Bolivia) and Copacabana, Sorata(2578m) is a good place to escape from the other tourists.

Sorata is a quiet village.

Although the people are poor here, I felt relatively safe in this village.

Sorata provides many challenging trails for trekking and it has similar landscape to the Colca Canyon in Peru.

A super dry landscape.

We hiked to a cave, which is formed by gypsum, with a small lake. And there is an unknown trail, which the staff said could lead to Peru (totally doubt about that).

The weather was super dry. After the hike, my friends tried the local 'Inca' dark beer.
