Basel and Chur

Basel, the 3rd largest city in Switzerland, is famous for its annual international watch and clock exhibiton to HK people. It is also where Ursina and Fabrizio are living and studied.

Last time when I was here, everywhere was covered with white. This time I could have a better look of the city.

A little walk from Binningen to Basel.

Downtown Basel.

It has its modern and old sides.

The colour of the government is very strong.

The old city gate.

A botanic garden downtown.

Along the river Rhine.

It was built in 1438. This old house is already much older than all the colonial houses in Latin America.

The cathedral in Basel.

Another church.

A quiet and beautiful place to paint.

If you are not living in Europe, or more specifically in Switzerland, Germany or Austria, you won't know the name Chur.

Lying in the far east of Switzerland, near the border with Austria. Chur acutally is a beautiful city situated among the Alps. The altitude of the city varies from 600metres to 1800metres. Chur is the city where Ursina grew up and in where her parents are still living. I like the peacefulness of Chur. If it is not because of Ursina, I think I wouldn't have the chance to appreciate Chur.

The city is situated in the valley.

Downtown Chur.

The landmark clock tower in Chur.

The arch of the city gate.

The main tone of the building here is grey. But the colour makes the city lack of energy.

Life in Chur.

The Cathedral in Chur.

The oldest wooden house which survived all the historical big fires in Chur.

I like the bright colour more than the grey tone.

They painted their house with humour.

A nice restaurant situated in the old city centre.

A beautiful and relaxing garden in the city centre. A good place to take a lunch break.

A pleasant jogging under the shade.
