Santa Clara - worship of Che Guevara

Santa Clara is not a special town, but it is almost a must to visit for all tourists. It is all because the colourful Hero 'Che' led a decisive battle here, causing the downfall of the previous dictator Batista. Most importantly, after he was murdered in Bolivia by the cooperation of Bolivian governemnt and the U.S. CIA for 30years, his body and other revolutionary figures were discovered in a mass grave in Bolivia, and their bodies were move to Santa Clara, from then on, there stands the status of Che.

´Che'.

The Monumento Ernesto Che Guevara. 'Che' is standing high, looking over the land who had helped to fought for liberate the people.

There are a museum about the lives of 'Che' with many of his pictures, his used guns, pen or even graduated certificate. Also the tomb of him. I love the museum very much, but as the museum fobide to take any picture, those who are interested really need to go there to feel the influence of this legendary Hero.

The signature of 'Che'.

The decisive move of the decisive battle. After stopping the train from the governemnt and seized all the weapons, the war could said to be almost over.

There won't be lack of sourvenir shop of 'Che'.

'Che', whom HK people know about mainly through the politian 'Long Hair', who always wears the T-shirt with the handsome face of 'Che'.

'Che' was born in Rosario, Argentina, after travelling around South America on motorbike, he realized that the people need to be freed from imperalism from the U.S.. So he didn't become a doctor as what he studied, but went on the road of revolutionary, aiming to free all Latin American coutnries, just like the great liberator Simon Bolivar who freed Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia from the Spanish crown.

He and Fidel Castro(the now president from then on) were succeeded in helping Cuba to overthrow the dictator Batista in 1959, he was only 31 years old at that time. Then he even held many important positions in the government of Cuba, like the president of the National Bank of Cuba (so there were his signature on the money at that time).

Aiming to liberate more countries, after 6 years of the liberation of Cuba, he went to Africa, helping Congo to rebel. One year later, he went to Bolivia. Afraid of the influence of Che's revolutions will affect the interests of U.S., CIA helped Bolivia to capture 'Che' and he was then shot in front of the US advisors in 1967, ending the legendary life of this 39 years old Hero.
